WHY HAS MOST OF MEDIA MISSED THE BOAT?
From most media outlets you mostly seem to get ‘impeach Bush’, ‘he lied to America’, ‘blood for oil’, and ‘unilaterally, he’s trampling on international policy’. Amazing how one-sided a story can be, and how people can be fooled into thinking it’s the truth. It’s time to get out of that ‘box’, remove your ‘hate’, and think rationally. But what follows should NOT be read by closed minds.
On 6/28/06, Kathleen Parker actually wrote about the latest WMD revelations in Iraq. New documents released revealed that coalition forces have recovered ~500 weapons since 2003 that contain mustard/sarin nerve agents. Interestingly, it was observed that these projectiles could be used outside of Iraq.
Wait, let’s back up. We find, not nuclear, but ‘certifiably’ weapons of mass destruction in Iraq while under Hussein’s rule. Let’s forget, for the moment, that the British continues to confirm its intelligence information that Hussein was looking for weapons-grade yellowcake in Niger.
Granted, nuclear-tipped missiles were not found. But finally, we know definitively that Hussein was lying about having and using WMD’s. We know that he lied in the report Hussein made to the UN about having no WMD’s, all the way back to the 80’s. The obvious question: “What else was he lying about?”
Interestingly, no one has yet replied to the options that Hussein had about his WMD’s during the 2003 Allied invasion. They are:
1) WMD’s were all destroyed in the initial ‘shock and awe’ incursion.
2) WMD’s were physically hidden immediately before the invasion.
3) WMD’s were shipped to terrorist nations(i.e., Syria) before the invasion.
4) Hussein obeyed demands for destruction of WMD’s prior to the invasion.
Knowing that Hussein has lied about WMD’s, option #4 is moot. We won’t go into the fact that #4 was least likely anyway since Hussein could have retained power if he had proved that all his WMD’s had, in fact, been destroyed. Evidently, he did not, because he could not.
Some facts you rarely hear from the media were: 1)EVERY world intelligence agency stated earlier that they knew Hussein had WMD’s, 2)in 6/05 the UN admitted that satellite imagery had shown that Hussein had removed equipment for manufacturing WMD’s from 109 sites, 3) NYTimes(3/14/06) stated that they were told(by Iraqi Deputy Minister of Industry/ Sami al-Araji)that looters systematically dismantled and removed tons of machinery from Hussein’s most important weapons installations, including some with high precision equipment capable of making parts for nuclear arms, 4)Iraqi General Georges Sadaas’ new book Saddam’s Secrets detailed how the WMD’s were moved to Syria, 5)tapes of Saddam saying terrorist WMD threats WERE coming to America, 6)all Iraqi generals believed that WMD’s existed to repel an American invasion, 7)a recovered document from 2002 describes “the transfer of Top Secret and Very Important WMD documents from the Iraqi National Monitoring Agency to more secure locations.”, 8)US military found WMD protective gear issued to Iraqi soldiers by their military, 9)documents found dated 9/15/01(ABC news) that confirmed that the Iraqi government and “bin Laden’s group” agreed to cooperate to attack targets inside America.
But the thousands of documents declassified haven’t all been translated yet. A videotape recovered from 1995 shows Hussein Kamal, Saddam’s son-in-law, briefing the dictator on how he kept UN inspectors in the dark about Iraq’s WMD ambitions and capabilities. One document from ABCNews says Hussein and Bin Laden discussed “carrying out joint operations against foreign forces”. In a taped conversation between Hussein, and Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz who says “The serial number of every single missile is known because our supplier was the Russians.”
Documents discovered by the Weekly Standard’s Stephen Hayes catalogues over 7200 Arabs who graduated from “terrorist” camps in 1998 from Egypt, Palestine, the Gulf, and Syria. And in a document dated 3/10/01, Hussein specifically asks for volunteers for suicide missions to strike American Interests. Clearly, Hussein’s military was planning direct aggression against America. For those unafraid of the facts, they can access most of the above information on internet portal [fmso.leavenworth.army.mil/products-docex.htm] to be translated.
The documents found thus far, including the above, are extensive. Thousands more have been found, but have been labeled ‘classified’. Such liberal publications such as ABCNews, and the NYTimes have reported many themselves, but no apologies for incorrect conclusions were forthcoming. Even the present administration has not hyped the documents. We know, of course, that Bush’s re-election is not an issue, and just over half the population actually think he ‘lied’ about Iraq. Could it be that Bush is holding something back until just before the next election? Is there another October ‘surprise’ looming? Information that would make a lot of people look good, and a lot of them look awfully bad? How could Bush do that sort of thing after all the bad press he’s gotten lately?
